Cobra Starship - Pop Punk Is Soooo ‘05
If they could see you now
They would surely bow
In the honor of your presence dear
You’ve come
The cameras blind your eye
Here’s the big surprise:
Flash never lasts
You’ve gotta pay your way back in
‘Cause who you are, what you say
You’re just a boy who’s afraid of the dark
What you’ve got means shit to me
I’m not impressed by the dress
And the sex that you boughtwill always be one of my favorites
Dear and the Headlights' "Drunk Like Bible Times"
RIYL: As Tall As Lions, Paper Rival, Good Old War
Today only!
considering today is F.A.D.'s birthday this is pretty cool
i kind of am able to look back on f.a.d. fondly now. we pushed the record back. then put out a song that i think shouldve moved the needle more but i think sometimes its all about timing. i think we put out singles in the wrong order. didnt do as much press as we shouldve. mtv virtually evaporated on us. “i dont care” was one of my favorite videos weve made. putting out a record at the worst possible time to be a band like us didnt help. but im glad that so many people seem to care about it as a body of work now and i can appreciate that. this is a big one.
I considered putting this album on my 2009 “end of the year lists”, because it came out so late last yeat..but I didn’t.
This is going to be quite an event!
Tickets will go on sale to the public this Saturday, December 19th, which is the same day I’ll be playing an acoustic cancer benefit show at Reggie’s in Chicago. Who knows, we may even give away some tickets at the acoustic show, so if you were holding out on going THIS MAY CHANGE YOUR MIND.
Hopefully I’ll see you Saturday, which will also be the 50th Saturday Night Music Club! More exciting news will be revealed this week so stay tune friends and foes.
I need to go…

rarely have i heard a cover of one of our songs where im like they have taken it apart and reassembled it in a brand new way. this band from new zealand called late 80’s mercedes did that with “this aint a scene”. kinda sounds swing/big band. i really like it.
